Terms of Service

Last updated: May 1, 2026

By requesting a quote or booking a pickup, you agree to these terms. They are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada.

1. Service description

swoopbin operates an on-demand junk-removal service in select Ontario cities. We will pick up the items described in your quote during the agreed time window. We are not a licensed hazardous-waste hauler — see "Items we do not accept" below.

2. Quotes and pricing

Quotes are based on the volume and type of items in your request. The amount we email you is binding for 14 days. If on arrival the actual volume materially exceeds what was described, we will offer an updated price you can accept or decline.

All prices are in Canadian dollars and include applicable Ontario HST. Our HST/GST registration number appears on every invoice once we are registered with the CRA.

3. Authorisation, capture, and refunds

When you click "Pay & confirm", we place a temporary authorisation hold on your card for the full amount. We do not charge you at that moment. The actual charge happens only after our team completes your pickup.

If you cancel before pickup, we release the hold (no charge). If you cancel after the charge has been captured, we will issue a refund to the original card within 5–10 business days.

4. Items we do not accept

  • Hazardous waste (paint, solvents, fuels, asbestos, automotive batteries except where we have a partner depot)
  • Medical waste, sharps
  • Live ammunition, firearms, explosives
  • Items requiring more than two people to safely move

If our team identifies prohibited items on arrival, they will refuse those items and adjust the quote accordingly.

5. Access and safety

You are responsible for safe and lawful access to the pickup location. Our team has the right to refuse the job if access is unsafe (e.g. unstable structure, unleashed aggressive animals, dangerously parked vehicles).

6. Liability

We carry general commercial liability insurance. We are responsible for damage caused by our team's negligence during the pickup, capped at the lesser of (a) the cost of repair, or (b) CAD $5,000 per incident, except where Ontario consumer-protection law imposes a higher limit. We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, normal wear, or items left at the curb that go missing before our arrival.

7. Cancellation policy

Cancel your booking any time before our team arrives at no cost. If our team arrives and the job is cancelled on the spot for reasons within your control (no access, items not ready, prohibited items only), we may charge a $60 trip fee.

8. Privacy

See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your personal information.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent change. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario. The courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act.
